I needed bilateral carpal tunnel release and trigger thumb release surgeries. As someone who has insurance but not a surgical benefit, it was important to me to find a way to make this affordable but even more importantly, that it was done right. Ideally, I didn't want to be placed under anesthesia but my options in Las Vegas were limited. After my first conversation with Dr. Peterson I knew I found the right place. Not only did he explain in detail the process of my surgeries but the recovery and the cost. All up front. No hidden fees, no surprises. He was amazing at explaining why I could/should do all three of my procedures at once, and he was absolutely right. He was also just the most present and articulate Dr. I have ever been to. I had suffered for more than 2 years with pain and severe numbness. I had tried all the injections, braces and therapy and nothing worked. I wasn't sleeping, I couldn't' use my thumb and I was so frustrated. After my surgery, the numbness was gone immediately. Immediately. The healing process was very sore at times, but I was still able to do everything for myself, even with stitches in both wrists and one thumb. I followed all of Dr. Peterson's advice and pushed myself a little more every day. I am a month out from my surgery and I am sleeping without waking. I have no numbness, my thumb doesn't lock and except for some normal sensitivity in my incision scars, I feel like everything is healed. I am able to do everything except push myself up from a seated position with my palms but I know this will take time and improves every single day. I wasn't concerned about being awake during my surgeries but I also opted not to watch. His amazing team with talk with you throughout the operation completely taking your mind off of what is happening. Not to mention, you can't feel it anyway. If you are worried about that part of the process, just talk to Dr. Peterson about it. Understanding what happens on surgery day, makes it feel so much less intimidating. Finally, the office and surgery suite are immaculate. Everything is clean and orderly and calm. There is no rush and no one shuffling you from one room to another. Everything is planned and executed perfectly. Every need thought of and planned for. I am sure the reason I waited so long to get treatment is because I was supposed to see Dr. Peterson. He was the best choice I could have made. I'm sure this review sounds like I know Dr. Peterson personally, but I can assure you I don't. I have not, and do not have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I do not personally know the pain and numbness associated with the syndrome. Nor do I know the direct impact of the surgery and recovery following.
