Meet Dr. Peterson

Elite Carpal Tunnel was founded by Dr. Travis A Peterson, a board certified orthopedic hand surgeon who started practicing in 2011. His interest in medicine started in his teens when his participation in sports gave him an “up close and personal” introduction to the field of orthopedics. After multiple shoulder and arm surgeries, Dr. Peterson was amazed that he was able to return to his desired activities with full function. This fascinating introduction to orthopedics ultimately led him to medical school. After medical school, he pursued a five-year orthopedic surgery residency followed by advanced fellowship training in the subspecialty of hand surgery. In the course of his practice experience in Washington and Utah, he has performed thousands of surgical procedures, with more than 2000 of those being carpal tunnel procedures.

While he enjoys a broad range of hand surgery care, Dr. Peterson’s focus is on providing a high-quality carpal tunnel care model that is designed at every level with the patient in mind acknowledging that the patient comes first. His perspective and experience has prepared him to create the Elite Carpal Tunnel solution.

“As a physician I take pride in my work and am grateful for the giants who have paved the way with enormous contributions and advances in the field of medicine. Because of them, we are fortunate to enjoy many advantages and unbelievable opportunities in the realm of healthcare. Yet, while we have made great strides, it is clear to me that there is still much to be done to improve the solutions and the care we deliver. As I survey the landscape of traditional carpal tunnel care with so many appointments, waits, copays, delays, and inefficiencies, I have asked myself, “Is this the best we can do?” The resounding answer is, “No! We can do much better!” Elite Carpal Tunnel is the answer to this question. It comes from combining cutting edge advancements in treatment with a passion for putting the patient first.”
